“Cooks on Fire will change the way you look at your barbecue” — The Spinoff
Cooks on Fire is a homegrown cooking competition to find New Zealand’s best backyard barbecue team. Seven teams of two (e.g. couples, siblings, friends) have brought their barbecues to the epic BBQ Arena. In each episode they cook to avoid elimination in two challenges: The BBQ Throwdown, where they make recipes they have practiced at home; and The Scorcher, where they cook using mystery ingredients. Deciding their fate are three judges; Eat Well For Less NZ host Ganesh Raj, food writer Nici Wickes and BBQ pitmaster Jared Macdonald. After 12 challenges across six weeks one team walks away with the Cooks on Fire trophy and $30,000.
